Since I need to practice on some realistic portraits, and I know who I'd like to paint, I need some help with establishing my priorities! Please, tell me - which one of those people would you like to see in my gallery first?

A die-hard classic rock fan, would kill for AC/DC or Pink Floyd vinyl, if I haven't had them already.

Old school gamer; and very proud of it.

Cat lover. Fanatic one, too.

Pen & Paper RPG player; addicted somewhere around 1991-1994. Still playing, when I have the chance. 'Nuff said.

And last, but not least -- a plain arms geek -- loves everything, that goes boom, or simply hurts people in some other, cool way. Paint-ball and ASG fanatic, parachuter, and a martial-artist.

Reality escapist.

Shame on you, DA! / After a long absence...

All of my old works, from my previous, closed profile can be found there. You will also find that the gallery section has a fair amount of works, that weren't published anywhere else.

Outrageous DA-Admins' conduct

There's a thing, that I strongly feel, must be brought to public attention. Since all of my reports were blatantly ignored by the DeviantArt staff, it's my duty as a paying customer, to name and shame.

On August 28th, 2008, I was browsing DA, and found a picture, that I knew, I saw before; an art-theft like many others. Since the style of the stolen picture was obviously recognisable, as Fred Gallagher's, I immediately navigated to the original picture, sent a detailed report (with the source URL, name of the original artist, etc), and left a few comments under the picture, to express my disgust, and left - feeling, that the case is in good hands of the DA's administration.

Few weeks later, I checked my inbox. Since I do report every single child-porn, yaoi-porn, stolen, and/or racist piece, that I find, I - indeed - found a few unread notes. No surprise here - anything labelled as "pornography" - gets deleted in a matter of hours, if not minutes (as I already observed in one of my previous journal entries, some time ago). But! To my infinite astonishment - nothing on the stolen MegaTokio piece! So I browsed back to the piece, and sent another report. And, after a month or so...

Yeah - no surprise - the piece was still there; person who uploaded it - unbanned (even, if they're not logging in). So I sent another note, hoping that my previous ones were lost or something.

Since then, after 4 months, and around 5 reports, the piece is still NOT REMOVED - and you can see it here; a sad proof, that DA's moderation is incompetent, and needs a whole new code of conduct.

I mean - I always believed, that if I decide to put my works on DA, and a case of stealing and re-posting occurs, the stolen works will be removed as soon as possible, if a proper complaint is made. But if such carelessness is shown in a case of a famous and renown artist... DA Staff - you just proved me wrong! Shame on you, if you take money for this.

Rant, rant, rant

A bunch of complaints and whining is coming your way, so if you don't feel like reading - just do do yourself a favour, and skip a paragraph.

After several months of being totally inactive, aside from occasional :+fav: here and there, I'm trying to find some new interest in this website. Perhaps it's because I'm physically and mentally unable to throw things away, and quit old habits, or perhaps it's because I'm just bored - who knows.

Anyway... precisely one month ago, I turned 25 - and, let me tell you, the last year was... the most horrible in my entire life, I think. It's been 12 months since I had a permanent job - the company that was holding my contract, lied to me, lost my money due to an idiot accountant (who couldn't figure out, that converting Canadian Dollar to American Dollar, and then - to Polish Zloty over a period of 3 months, will result in the loss of 1/3 of my payment), and finally - fired me with no notice period, or compensatory indemnity. Since then, I'm living in a huge debt (my bank just looooveees me), and the rare cases of commissions, that I get, are simply not enough to pay it off - most of the time, I - somehow - involve myself with people, who are very late with the payment, or won't pay at all (not to mention - talking to me, or answering my phone-calls, for that matter), once the job is done.

The straw that breaks the camel's back is my mental and emotional condition - there's a nice, fat chance, that I'm suffering from the borderline personality disorder. Yay. :sarcasm:

I'm trying to leave all those things behind me, and start fresh - but knowing how my previous tries turned out, I'm not that sure there's much point in it. Anyway... since I haven't really drawn a thing in 5 months, and I remember, that drawing was important to me once, I'm considering a self-imposed therapy through drawing - I hope to find enough strength, to even give it a try -- doing something creative, instead of levelling another Blood Lolf alt in WoW, might do me some good.

My very own children's book!

But not EVERYTHING was so bad in the past year. Thanks to a very dear friend from my childhood, I was able to fulfil a long-forgotten dream of creating a bunch of illustrations for a children's book. Some time ago, I received my very own copy, so I can share :)

Be reminded, that I aimed for a cartoonish, and a bit kitschy style, so the illustrations would reflect the sweet, and positive tone of the story.

No kiribans.

Also, if you got a :+fav: from me, it means I like your work -- there's NO NEED TO THANK for it with a comment (so please, don't do it). Seeing an exceptional piece of art is enough for me.
